Therapy:

  • I learnt to accept it’s normal to have anxiety & that I need to reduce unrealistic demands I place on myself.
  • Taught me my feelings are normal that I can cope with my cancer treatment
  • I feel much more positive about going through another IVF treatment without anxiety and stress. I found the relaxation tape really helped. I just wish I had gone to counselling before my first attempt which was very stressful
  • I would tell others it was worth coming to therapy if you want to deal with stress and anger
  • I found the fertility check list excellent because you can see the whole process clearly set out, you feel more in control

  • I now realise the importance of looking at the whole person rather than individual aspects
  • I think exploring and knowing what each individual’s role is was a good exercise and something we can all explore more fully when we get back to the office to aid a more effective working relationship
  • As a man it was such a relief to see I did have a role to play in the fertility treatment, not just a bystander
  • Looking at different managerial types to use in different situations very useful to manage change
  • Found the relaxation skills very comforting especially how I could use them in the work place to stop pressure from exhausting me
  • Enabled me to accept stress in myself & anxiety and believe in myself & my own confidence.
